How to schedule social media posts

by - Saturday, April 14, 2018

Good morning everyone. As you well know I like to vary the types of posts on the blog, so today I want to talk about some tools to better program your posts on social media without stress in a simple and fast way. Thanks to my work as a community manager I also deal with the management of social media and I learned a lot of things that I want to share with you!

Buongiorno a tutti.

Trello
First of all, let's start with an editorial plan. What do we want to publish? How many times a day or a week? Personally, I do not follow anything planned for my blog but for my work I have everything programmed. Trello is very easy to use and is a simple dashboard where you can insert every idea and every post you want to write on your blog or for your social media. For example, I have a different theme every day and I divided my dashboard on weekdays adding examples and ideas in each card.

Buffer and Hootsuite
But what are the best and most effective tools to plan your posts on social media in advance? I offer you two. The first is Buffer, which I use from mobile for my blog and in particular to program tweets. I find it simple and very intuitive and gives you the ability to program up to 10 posts with the free version. Hootsuite, on the other hand, you have to paid but you can downgrade your plan to manage up to 3 accounts. This instead I prefer to use it at work from the desktop because you can schedule posts at any time, unlike Buffer that you have to set hours in the tool settings (desktop only). Moreover, Hootsuite gives you an overview of your social, messages and comments.

Grum
And for Instagram? There seems to be no way to schedule posts in advance. But recently I discovered this fabulous tool: Grum. This tool allows you to program all the photos you want to publish on Instagram by adding the description and if you want the first comment too! Fantastic. Indeed, even Buffer and Hootsuite can program the posts on Instagram but they do not publish them directly, you get a warning and only after your consent they publish the photo for you.
