Is the Beauty Blender worth the hype?

by - Saturday, November 24, 2018

Can I consider myself a real beauty blogger without having tried the original beauty blender? Probably not, and then thanks to a good discount from Sephora I decided to fill this great gap. I've used the Real Techniques sponge for years and I love it. Let's see if the beauty blender is the best one on the market and if it is worth €16.90.

Over the years, the cosmetics industry has been transformed and evolved. Now the sponge has become a part of our routine, but it all came from a single brand: Beauty Blender. The brand is so well known that every dupe of this sponge is called beauty blender, even if it is not! Incredible, uh?

But let's get to the fundamental question of this post. Is the beauty blender really better than the other cheaper alternatives on the market? In my honest opinion no. I think it is not worth spending almost €17 for a sponge when with €13 you can have the 2 pack by Real Techniques. It certainly has many positive aspects, but I think the value for money isn't one of the best.

  • The foundation application is uniform
  • It doesn't absorb much product
  • Compared to other sponges you can have more coverage

The final effect is wonderful as you can see since there are no stripes that brushes can leave. I applied a bit more foundation than normal but thanks to the beauty blender I managed to have high coverage without a heavy effect on the face. However, I recommend you try it at least once because the quality is exceptional, but I will definitely return to my dear Real Techniques.

And you? Have you ever tried the beauty blender? What is your favorite sponge? Do you know other cheap alternatives besides the Real Techniques one?
E voi? Avete mai provato la beauty blender? Qual è la vostra spugnetta preferita? Conoscete altre alternative economiche oltre alla Real Techniques?
