REVIEW: Illamasqua beyond powder highlighter

by - Saturday, January 19, 2019

The first time I heard about Illamasqua products was thanks to a Zoella's blog post. I don't know if it's just my impression but I find that this brand is not very well know or appreciated here in Italy. I don't know any physical stores where Illamasqua products can be bought and I haven't read Italian posts about it. This was LookFantastic's Christmas present. On December 25th I found this fantastic highlighter as the last day of the advent calendar.

Receiving a product of this quality was truly a wonderful surprise. The color is deity and I wouldn't even know how to describe it as it's such a particular color. It looks like a simple pearly color but has iridescent gold-green-blue reflections. The effect on the face is bright, almost wet and icy. Insane!

Stupendo!

I have tried many highlighters: from the Mary-Lou Manizer by the Balm, to Dandelion Twinkle and Watt's Up by Benefit. But no one is as wonderful as this one! The others are always very similar to each other, they can have a golden or pink undertone, but this is really special. I love it! ❤️ The ultra-lightweight baked powder gives a wonderful iridescent glow for an almost holographic result.

The price is a bit high, €44.20 on LookFantastic (now discounted at €35.36). But if you make your first purchase on the website you can enter the AISHA-RNO code to get €5 off! If you buy it now you can only pay it €30.36! I would say that almost €15 discount are great.

And you? Have you ever tried Illamasqua products? What is your favorite highlighter? Let me know in the comments.
