Why is essential to protect your skin from the sun?

by - Saturday, April 24, 2021

Today is a beautiful sunny day and I can't wait to get out as soon as I've finished writing this blog post. Lately, I have been always outside on my bike and although it's not sunny I always put on sunscreen before I go out. This is because it is essential to protect the skin from the sun's rays even if we are not at the sea and there is no August sun.

From which rays do we need to protect ourselves?

UVA and UVB rays

UVA rays are responsible for skin aging and the formation of photo-aging wrinkles. They reach the deep part of the skin, called the dermis, where they damage the elastic fibers and collagen causing long-term damage.

UVB rays cause erythema and subsequent tanning. They reach the epidermis, where they stimulate the melanocytes to produce melanin. Here a little science refresher! But in a nutshell, they are the ones that make you tan!

UVC and infrared rays

UVC rays, on the other hand, stop on the very first layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, and can cause irreversible and serious damage to the skin.

Infrared rays are responsible for heat exhaustion and excessive sweating, but also cause photo-aging!

Da quali raggi dobbiamo proteggerci?

Raggi UVA e UVB

Raggiungono l'epidermide, dove stimolano i melanociti a produrre melanina.

What's my phototype?

Labo Suisse gave me the opportunity to talk about a very important topic because, unfortunately, many people only use sunscreen when they are on the beach. But have you ever thought that you are under the sun even during a walk? On your way to work? Or the summer when you are dressed even less? This is why I'm really happy to show you the material they sent me to be able to help you find your phototype.

Before choosing the protection factor it's essential to know your phototype. For example, I'm a phototype 2 and up to the sixth day of sun exposure I have to use the 50+ protection and only after a week change to 30.

On the other hand, phototype 4, 5, and 6 can use 30 the first days and then move on to 20. Phototype 1 must use a 50+ protection for all exposure to the sun.

Mentre state andando al lavoro?

Fillerina Solare

By now I have tried many Labo Suisse products and I know their quality perfectly. I tried the complete kit with:

  1. Facial sunscreen SPF 20*
  2. Sun body spray SPF 50+*
  3. After sun face and body*

There is no difference between cream and spray because the texture of all 3 products is truly fabulous! Deeply moisturizes the skin without having that greasy, non-absorbable feeling of the product. Also in these products, there are 12 hyaluronic acids that help to give an anti-wrinkle, anti-dehydration, firming, and elasticizing effect! But that's not all because to protect the skin from the sun and leave it soft, these products also contain 3 molecules of collagen and 2 of elastin. A cuddle for the skin.
